What's Happening This Week at Emmaus?

For though I am free with respect to all, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I might win more of them.

 

Sunday, February 5
  9:00 a.m. - Worship Service.  We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of
                   each month.  All believers are welcome to join us, whether or not they are members of
                   Emmaus.  There will be no Children's Church.

   9:00 a.m. - Worship Service. Children ages 3-1st grade are invited to attend
                    Children's Church during the 9:00 a.m. service.  The Pastor will dismiss
                    children to attend Children's Church at the beginning of the sermon.  They will return to
                    the sanctuary before the benediction.

 10:00 a.m. - Sunday School for all ages. A detailed listing of adult classes is
                    available for your consideration HERE. If you have any questions
                    please stop by the Welcome Center Table in the Narthex or the main office.  All are
                    welcome to come to the Prayer Room where our current focus is “Praying for the Hope
                    of Jesus.”

 10:45 a.m. - College Student transportation.  The church bus will arrive  to pick up
                    students at Buntrock Commons at St. Olaf and the church van will arrive at Sayles Hill
                    at Carleton. Students will  be dropped off at the same locations after the second
                    service ends.

 11:00 a.m. - Worship Service.

   5:00 p.m. - Beth Moore Group 1. Group 1 women will be studying Mercy
                    Triumphs
. Study guides will be available this evening. This group meets in the
                    Auditorium which is right at the bottom of the main stairs. Please contact Kay Costa at
                    645-8429 if you have any questions.

   6:30 p.m. - Beth Moore Group 2. in the library. This study will be The Fruit of the Spirit
                    and will meet for approximately 10 weeks. Please contact Rachel Bath at 645-7814 if
                    you have any questions.

Monday,  February 6

  7:00 p.m. - Worship Board. 

 Wednesday, February 8

  6:00 a.m. - Men's Prayer Breakfast All men are invited to start out their Wednesday 
                    by gathering in the Emmaus kitchen for breakfast at 6:00am. Come for the food and
                    fellowship.

   6:30 p.m. - WonderKids on Wednesdays.

   6:30 p.m. - Youth Group.

   6:30 p.m. - Choir. Choir practice will resumes this week.

   6:30 p.m. - Adult Bible Study.

   6:30 p.m. - Church Council.

Thursday, February 9

  5:30 p.m. - Soup Group for anyone with a child age 4 or under in Fellowship Hall. This is
                   a time to share a meal together and spend some time sharing the joys and challenges of
                   parenting. Child care will be provided.

Saturday, February 11

  8:00 a.m. - Staff/Council Retreat in Fellowship Hall.

10:00 a.m. - Ice Fishing for Youth Group: From 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. we will be ice
                   fishing at the Lorence’s Ponds. All middle and high school youth are invited to come
                   experience ice fishing!

Sunday, February 12

 3:30 p.m. - Annual Emmaus Sledding Event And Potluck Dinner: Please plan on
                  joining us Sunday, February 12th, as we sled at St. Olaf from 3:30-4:30 and then head
                  back to church for a mostly potluck dinner - we will provide the hot dogs.

Tuesday, February 14

 9:00 a.m. - Senior Outing: We will leave church at 9:15 and head to the Minnesota
                  History Center. Some of the current exhibits are: The Greatest Generation, The 1968
                  Exhibit and Home Place Minnesota along with several others. The cost of admission is $9
                  plus the cost for lunch at the History Center Café. Please sign-up in the Narthex. Contact
                  Art Kopseng at 645-4703 with questions.

Wednesday, February 15

 6:30 p.m. - Attention Families! The next Milestone Wednesday is
                   February 15th from 6:30-7:30pm! Children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade
                   are invited to attend with their parent(s) and mentors! See Kristin Lindholm with
                   questions!

Sunday, February 19

10:00 a.m. - Hour of Conversation: If you are interested in learning more about the
                  history of Emmaus, what we believe and the places God is calling us to as well as the
                  question of membership at Emmaus, then please consider joining us during the Sunday
                  School hour. If you know you will be coming, please let the office know.

Wednesday, March 7

 6:00 p.m. - 1st Wednesday Cafe Night of Prayer.

Wednesday, April 4

 6:00 p.m. - 1st Wednesday Cafe Night of Worship.

Wednesday, May 2

 6:00 p.m. - 1st Wednesday Cafe Thanksgiving and Blessing Service.

Sunday, June 17 - Saturday, June 23

                  Trout Lake Summer Camp Kids finishing Kindergarten through 12th grade
                  are welcome to join us as Emmaus goes to camp June 17th –23rd! Emmaus is offering a
                  $100 scholarship to any child who attends camp so stop by the Welcome Center table in
                  the Narthex to pick up a brochure. There are half week options for younger children.
                  Kristin Lindholm will be the guest speaker at camp during this week.
