                     join us for coffee and conversation.  Come when you can for as long as you
                     can.

Saturday, July 31 through Sunday, August 1
                     All Church Camp Out & Sunday Worship  Emmaus has reserved
                     the entire group camp site at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park.  You and your
                     family are welcome to camp overnight and experience a Sunday worship service
                     at the park.  The church bus will also be available for transporting folks to
                     Nerstrand who may not be interested in camping overnight. 
                     To Camp: Please sign up in the narthex or contact the church office if you
                     are planning on camping overnight!The group campsites are paid for, but you will need
                     a $5 use permit for your vehicle.

Sunday, August 1
                     All Church Camp Out & Sunday Worship continues.
   9:30 a.m.    To Ride the Bus: Please be at Emmaus at 9:30. The service will begin at
                     10:00 and the bus will bring you back when it is over. There is no cost for riding the bus
                     or entering the park.
   9:50 a.m.    To Drive Yourself: Please plan on being at the park by 9:50 so that we can
                     give you a day use permit for your car. If you know that you will be driving yourself
                     and could tell us this week, that would be helpful to us as we will be paying for the day
                     use park permits. We will direct you to the Worship site.
                     Directions to Nerstrand Big Woods State Park: Take State Highway 246
                     south/east out of Northfield. (Division Street turns into 246 just past the Middle School).
                     You will come into Nerstrand within 10 minutes. There will be a stop sign at County
                     Road 29 and a large sign pointing you to Nerstrand Big Woods. Turn right and the park
                     is about five minutes up the road. The park phone number is 507-333-4840.

Sunday August 8
    9:30 a.m. - Worship Service.  Note summer time change.  There will be a
                     baptism service.
  10:30 a.m. - Church Council Forum.  for about 45 minutes between the worship
                     service and the Hamburger Fry, the Church Council will be holding an informal
                     forum.
                     We’d like to talk about what we are working on this year, present our thinking about a
                     mission statement and have and open discussion about the mission statement as well
                     as ideas for improved communication. We hope many of you are able to attend!
                     There will be fun activities for children during this time.
  11:15 a.m. - Hamburger Fry - Round Two. Everyone enjoyed the Hamburger Fry
                     on June 27 so much that we have decided to have another one after the worship
                     service on Sunday, August 8th.  Thank you to Steven and Kimberley Gray for
                     donating the wonderful beef and for everyone’s generosity in making donations.
                     $1200 was raised for the Encouragement Fund!
   6:10 p.m  -  Softball.  Emmaus takes on Methodist White this week
                     at Babcock Park.

Friday, August 13
   5:30 p.m. - Open House Farewell Gathering for the Pattersons: Please join us
                     for a light meal and a chance to say good-bye to Tim and Dawn as they will be going
                     to work with Campus Crusade in Florida.
