To help defray the cost of supplies and bussing for WOW, for those families who
are able, a suggested donation of $30 for the year would be welcomed. Feel free
to divide the donation in $15 increments (fall/spring). WOW will never turn
anyone away because of an inability to contribute the suggested donation.
PARENT CONSENT/EMERGENCY FORM Rather than
requiring that you fill out a consent/emergency form for every program that your
child attends, we ask that you submit a form once a year that will cover all
on-site Emmaus programming for our age 3—grade 5 students. All families with
children who will participate in ANY of our on-site programming at Emmaus during
2010-11 are asked to fill out the Parent Consent Form. To receive a consent
form, email Kristin Lindholm,
Director of Children & Family Ministries, or call her at 645-9480.
BUSSING We are thrilled to announce that Emmaus,
along with other area churches, will be providing a bus to pick up children who
are interested in participating in our afterschool programs. Benjamin Bus
Company will pick up children from Sibley and Bridgewater schools and bring them
to Emmaus. Due to liability, maintenance and driver costs, we have decided to
share a bus with St. John’s Lutheran Church instead of using the church’s bus.
If you would like your child to ride the bus, please indicate this on the
registration form. If your child signs up to ride and cannot be there for a
particular Wednesday, please call the church office prior to the school’s
release time. If your child will be riding the bus, please send a note to
his/her teacher giving permission to ride the bus.
Greenvale students will walk to Emmaus after they are
released from school. Emmaus will provide an adult chaperone to meet the
children under the canopy at Greenvale, and they will walk together from there
to church.
CALENDAR The WOW schedule for the 2010-11 school
year begins September 15 and continues through May 25. There will be no
WOW sessions on when school is not in session on October 20 (MEA), November 24
(Thanksgiving Break), December 22 and 29 (Christmas Break), and March 30 (Spring
Break). There will be an extended program on March 9 (Ash Wednesday).
