Sunday School isn’t just for kids; it’s for everyone. Come feed your mind and
spirit while deepening relationships with other Emmaus folk.
Sunday morning classes take place between worship services from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m.
during the school year.
If you have any questions about adult Sunday School, please call the church
office at 645-9480.
A new series of Classes will commence on January 15, 2012, running
through to May
Kitchen Missions: We learn about and encourage Emmaus’ different outreach efforts,
including the missionaries Emmaus
supports and other ministries of people in our congregation.
We invite people to share their experiences and to pray for
those doing outreach. We sponsor two Compassion International
children as a class. All are invited to join us for however long
at any time during the year.
Facilitator: Scott Nesbit.
Location: The kitchen, of course.
A Time of Prayer: A Time of Prayer is exactly what the words portray. We
pray for each other and for the needs of which we are aware in
our own lives, congregation, community, state, nation and world.
We pray aloud. We pray in silence. We listen; to each other and
to the Holy Spirit. We learn because we listen.
Facilitators: Tom and Jan Dunlap and Lydia Tilstra.
Location: Prayer Room behind the coat room.
Link: An opportunity to meet and connect with others
in the congregation to learn, discuss and assimilate a combination of
the sermon texts for the day and the children’s and youth’s
Sunday School texts for the week. This class is easily flexibly
attended. Themes for the year include Jonah, Paul, the Good Samaritan, John
the Baptist, Stewardship, the Great Escape, Delivered by God and
the Two Great Commandments:

Adult Bible Study of Job: Spend 6 weeks studying the book
of Job and related scriptures with Bruce Olson. The difficult
topics of human suffering, God’s sovereignty, good and evil will
be discussed. Just as in life, there are no easy answers in the
book of Job. Yet, it is through lament and bewilderment there is
an underlying message of hope that cannot be squashed. We may
not know the immediate future but we do know the final
future...and like Job we can find peace in this assurance.
Facilitator: Bruce Olson
Location: Fellowship Hall Classroom A

relationships, finances, time, careers, etc. Books can be purchased in
the first class for $4.00.
